Data silo audit

A data silo is a set of business data held in one system or team that other systems cannot reliably access or reconcile with.

Score data silo risk from system sprawl, point-to-point integrations, reconciliation effort and duplicated entities. Free, and it runs in your browser.

How to use it

  1. Enter the systems holding operational data, the point-to-point integration count, and the dominant connection pattern.
  2. Set the reconciliation frequency, reconciliation FTEs, discrepancy impact score, and whether apps or AI use cases are delayed.
  3. List trusted reusable entities, duplicated entities, and pain points, one per line.
  4. Generate the audit to read the silo risk score, risk band, and the four risk dimensions, then copy the result.

Questions

How is the silo risk score calculated?
Four dimensions — integration sprawl, reconciliation load, operational cost, and entity governance — are each scored from your inputs and averaged into a score out of 100 with a low, moderate, or high band.
Is this a formal data audit?
No. It is a browser-side planning estimate built from the inputs you provide, not an operational or compliance assessment. Use it to frame where a deeper review should start.
Is my system inventory uploaded anywhere?
No. The scoring runs entirely in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
How do I lower the silo risk score?
The score falls as point-to-point connections are replaced by shared interfaces, reconciliation becomes less frequent, and more entities are trusted and reused instead of duplicated. Start with the entity that is duplicated in the most systems.
