E-invoice viewer for UBL and CII XML

An e-invoice is an invoice issued as structured data, usually XML in the UBL or UN/CEFACT CII syntax, so the buyer's system can read it without retyping; a PDF or a scanned image is not an e-invoice.

Paste a UBL or CII e-invoice and read it as an invoice, with the parties, VAT IDs, lines, VAT breakdown and totals, plus a check that the totals add up.

Built for

Reads UBL 2.1 invoices and credit notes (including Peppol BIS Billing 3.0, XRechnung UBL, PINT AE and ZATCA) and UN/CEFACT CII D16B invoices (including XRechnung CII and the XML inside ZUGFeRD and Factur-X). Reviewed 30 October 2026.

A readability and arithmetic check, not a compliance check. It does not run the full schema or Schematron rules of any country, and it does not verify signatures, hashes or QR codes.

Examples

The sample invoice

A Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 invoice from a German seller to a Belgian buyer: 10 hours at €25.00 and 2 licences at €50.00 give a net total of €350.00. VAT at 19% is €66.50 and the amount due €416.50, and each total is checked against the lines.

Totals that don't add up

If the tax-exclusive total plus VAT does not equal the tax-inclusive total, the check for that rule is marked as failed, with both figures shown.

A credit note

A UBL CreditNote is shown as a credit note, with the same parties, lines and totals.

A ZUGFeRD or Factur-X PDF

These PDFs carry a CII XML file inside. Extract the XML with your PDF reader or software and paste it here.

How to use it

  1. Open the e-invoice XML file in a text editor and copy all of it.
  2. Paste it into the input.
  3. Read the header, seller and buyer, lines, VAT breakdown and totals.
  4. Check the arithmetic results, then copy, download or print the readable view.

Questions

Which e-invoice formats can it read?
OASIS UBL 2.1 invoices and credit notes, including Peppol BIS Billing 3.0, XRechnung UBL, the UAE's PINT AE and ZATCA invoices, and UN/CEFACT CII D16B invoices, including XRechnung CII and the XML in ZUGFeRD and Factur-X.
Does it validate the invoice?
It checks that the totals add up (line totals, tax-exclusive and tax-inclusive totals, VAT total and amount due) and that key fields are present. It does not run the full schema or Schematron rules a tax authority or Peppol access point uses.
Can it read a ZATCA invoice?
Yes, a ZATCA invoice is UBL 2.1 XML, so its header, parties, lines and totals are shown. The cryptographic stamp, hash and QR code are not verified.
Is a PDF an e-invoice?
No. An e-invoice is structured data that software can read. In the UAE, businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more must implement e-invoicing by 1 January 2027 and other businesses by 1 July 2027; a PDF made in a browser does not meet that requirement.
What about ZUGFeRD and Factur-X PDFs?
They are PDFs with a CII XML file attached. Paste the attached XML to read it here; the tool does not open PDFs.
Is my invoice uploaded?
No. The XML is read entirely in your browser and nothing is uploaded. This tool does not keep a draft in your browser.
