- What must a UAE tax invoice include?
- The words "Tax Invoice"; the supplier's name, address and TRN; the recipient's name, address and TRN if registered; a sequential invoice number; the date of issue and the date of supply if different; a description; quantity, unit price, tax rate and amount payable in AED; any discount; the gross amount; and the VAT amount in AED.
- What is a TRN?
- The tax registration number the Federal Tax Authority issues to a VAT-registered business. It is 15 digits, starting with 1 and ending with 03, and it must appear on every tax invoice.
- When can I issue a simplified tax invoice instead?
- When the customer is not VAT-registered, or is registered and the consideration is AED 10,000 or less. A simplified invoice shows "Tax Invoice", your name, address and TRN, the date, a description and the total with VAT.
- How soon must I issue the invoice?
- Within 14 days of the date of supply.
- Does this replace e-invoicing?
- No. Businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more must implement e-invoicing by 1 January 2027, other businesses by 1 July 2027 and government entities by 1 October 2027. After those dates, in-scope businesses issue e-invoices through an accredited service provider, not as PDFs.
- Is my invoice data uploaded or saved?
- No. The invoice is made entirely in your browser and nothing is uploaded. Invoice details are not kept as a draft, and shareable links leave out customer details, line items, logo and signature.
